We are committed to ensuring that children can recognise the importance of Maths in the wider world and that they are also able to use their mathematical skills and knowledge confidently in their lives in a range of different contexts. At Prior’s Mill, we want all children to enjoy Mathematics and to experience success in the subject, with the ability to reason mathematically.

We have a carefully planned calculation policy which ensures that children are supported with a progressive and consistent approach to building fluency and accuracy in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We use the CONCRETE, PICTORIAL, ABSTRACT approach to building mathematical fluency.
