School Meals

School Menus: April – July 2024

Stockton Local Authority provide the catering at Prior’s Mill School and the meals are excellent!  The cost of a school meal is £2.50 per day, £12.50 for a full week.

From November 2023 we have a new online ordering and payments system for school meals using the school gateway app. We politely ask parents to please pre-order their child’s meal for the week in advance, if you child is absence, a credit will be added against any future meal costs. School requires a 2 week notice period to move from or to school meals, please contact the school office if you would like to request this.

For Universal Free School Meal children in Reception and KS1, please make your meal choice in advance using the school gateway online system. There is no charge for school meals.

We operate a coloured sticker system in school whereby children having school meals choose their meal at morning registration and are given a sticker to wear that corresponds with the daily menu.

Free School Meals

If you think you may be entitled to free school meals, please either contact the above number or apply on line using this link – Stockton-on-Tees Citizen Portal

It is important that you register for free school meals even if you choose to provide a lunch for your child yourself as the school receives extra funding based on the percentage of free school meals in school.

Universal Free School Meals

Under the Government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can have a free school meal each day.

Meal Choice Changes

Please contact either Mrs Twomey/ Miss Clapp or Miss Green in the school office if you wish your child to change their lunchtime arrangements or for any other assistance.  We ask that you provide us with two week’s notice if your child would like to go on school dinners or change to packed lunches.

Thank you.

Packed Lunches

As our school promotes healthy eating, please may we remind parents/carers of those children who choose to bring a packed lunch that fizzy drinks, glass bottles, chocolate bars and sweets should not be brought to school or flasks containing hot food/soup.

Please note:

NUTS and NUT BASED PRODUCTS (e.g. Nutella spread) must not be brought to school as we have several children who suffer with severe allergies.

Hot foods such as soups or pastas must not be provided as part of packed lunch meals.
