Prior’s Mill CE Primary is committed to providing the very highest standards of protection and safety to the children entrusted to our care. All staff receive annual safeguarding training in relation to Keeping Children Safe in Education. Alongside this, staff are regularly and appropriately trained in first aid, digital safety, specific child protection issues and health and safety.

Keeping Children Safe in Education is statutory guidance that schools and colleges in England must have regard to when carrying out their duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. It is regularly reviewed and updated. You can access the document here:

The Safeguarding Team

There is a team of senior leaders who are trained and experienced in responding to safeguarding concerns:

Family Help Point

All your support, advice, and safeguarding help in one place.

The new Family Help Point service by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council offers a first point of contact for anyone worried about a child’s safety or wellbeing. 

The service can help with a range of things, including:

• if you are concerned about a child’s safety or welfare
• if you think a child might need extra help or support
• if you want to discuss whether your own child might benefit from support
• if your child has a disability or additional needs and may need an assessment
• if you are supporting a child or family that may need support or a referral
• requests for information from approved services

The Family Help Point service will make it easier for families to get help when they need it and for professionals to respond quickly.
