Admissions Consultation

Melrose Learning Trust Board and our school local governing body are consulting on our planned admissions arrangements for pupils applying for places in the academic year beginning September 2026. This consultation will run from 13th December 2024 to 24th January 2025.

 A copy of the proposed policy is available below. 

If you have any comments or queries about the policy, please submit these in writing to the school office or email them to office@priorsmill.org.uk

At the end of the consultation period, all responses will be carefully considered, and the final policy will be approved by the Melrose Learning Trust Board.

Admissions 2025

Prior’s Mill C of E Primary follows the admission arrangements of Stockton Borough Council, however Melrose Learning Trust are the admissions authority for the school. Nursery

Prior’s Mill has a fantastic 78 place Nursery offering 3 and 4 year olds a free nursery place of 15 hours per week in either our morning or afternoon session which can each accommodate 39 children.

Children are admitted to our Nursery following their third birthday. 

If you wish to apply for a Nursery place for your child, please complete a Nursery Application Form available from our Forms page or the school office. 

In-Year Admissions Arrangements

Stockton-On-Tees Borough Council’s admissions team co-ordinate in year admissions on behalf of School. An in-year admission is when a parent wishes to apply for a place in School outside of the normal rounds of entry, e.g. starting primary school in Reception. Appeals

You can only submit an appeal if you have received a formal letter of refusal.
